Dr Sketchys Sydney
Dr Sketchys is a burlesque life drawing class that welcomes all walks of life. We’ve yet to unearth any modern-day Monets but we do take credit for some of the most fun-filled nights ever created to fill the void between Sunday and Friday.
This hugely popular life-drawing class originated in in Brooklyn, NYC, in 2005, under the tutelage of a talented young miss by the name of Molly Crabapple (not to be confused with The Simpson's embittered spinster of the same name).
Since then, Dr Sketchys has spread to over 150 cities worldwide – including Sydney. Taking up residence in the ArtHouse Hotel Attic Bar fortnightly on Tuesday, your evening includes a handpicked selection of beautiful burlesque and circus models that are just as at home on a trapeze as they are on posing for your masterpiece!
Dr Sketchys is perfect for both strong silent types who like to work alone, and group get togethers. Whatever your social and artistic skills, come along for a night of life drawing with models, elaborate costumes, quirky props, live performance, comedy skits, cosy Chesterfield couches and audience participation presided over by an MC.
